This morning I woke up and watched the oldie-but-a-goodie TED Talk by Dan Pallotta, an author and humanitarian who challenges the 'rulebook' that nonprofits have been forced to play by since our inception in the US.
Too many nonprofits, he says, are rewarded for how little they spend -- not for what they get done. Instead of equating frugality with morality, and always assessing 'how big is your overhead,' he asks us to start rewarding charities for the scale of their dreams (and ability to execute them).
Whether you work for a nonprofit, give to a nonprofit, or care about any social issue, this 20-minute video is a must watch.
